WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER 2012 CALENDAR GIRLS THREAD!!! It is a time for thanksgiving!

November is a month when we get to spend time with family and give thanks for all of the blessings that we receive throughout the year. It is one of my favorite months, the cool weather, colorful leaves and yummy Thanksgiving dinner make this month awesome!

We are so glad that you joined us this month and hope that you will feel free to participate with the Calendar Girls, we love sharing our hobby and lives with new friends. We now have 8 challenges each month: The Scraplift Challenge, the Sketch Challenge, the Card Challenge, the BOS or Bookmarks Challenge, the Recipe Challenge, the Stash Challenge and the Digi Challenge. We are excited about our new format and this is going to be such a great year! Here are this months' challenges:

HERE ARE THIS MONTH'S CHALLENGES

SCRAPLIFT CHALLENGE - by Jan
******************************
Come on baby let's do the twist
Come on baby let's do the twist
Take me by my little hand and go like this
Ee-oh twist baby baby twist
Oooh-yeah just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist

This month's challenge is to do the twist with one of your favorite Calendar Girl projects! You can turn the design, twist up the colors or embellishments or anything you want! Just rock it and roll it and twist it on out!

SKETCH CHALLENGE - by Toni
****************************
Please use one of the following sketches as inspiration:

CARD CHALLENGE - by Linda
****************************
Make this card into a non-tradition Thanksgiving Card, instead of a Birthday card. Designer, Unknown.

BOOKMARKS CHALLENGE - by Theresa
*********************************

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

For this month's challenge since the weather is turning cold we're going to think warm thoughts and I want you to take the first layout that pops out at you when you open your Bookmarks and use it to inspire you to make a "warm" layout or any project. That can be warm weather, warm colors or just something that warms your heart.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

STASH CHALLENGE - by Monica B.
*******************************
This month, I am challenging you to bust out your SCRAPS and do something creative with them! Use patterned paper scraps from one layout to make a card or another layout. Use scraps from product packaging or the negative from something you cut with your diecut machine or leftovers from a sticker sheet or use those little cut-off strips from the bottom of patterned papers. Take it even further by making your own embellishment with your scraps!

RECIPE CHALLENGE - by Diana
*******************************

This month's challenge is to scrap a favorite Thanksgiving recipe.

Please Use..

2 patterned papers

1 or more leaves

Ribbon and a recipe card. Have fun!

DIGI CHALLENGE - by Debi
******************************
I'm going to use the digit in digital for this month's...all month long digi challenge: "Gallery Scraplift". Take the number of the day (i.e. 11/3/12=3) go to that number page of the gallery of your choice (digital, traditional or card) and then go to the 11th (for the month) LO or card posted, and scraplift it.

If it's a hybrid project, move to the next item that is a LO or card for your inspiration.

You can do this everyday if you choose and even more than once a day given the gallery is always changing. You can do your scraplift traditionally or digitally. Have fun. So how many projects will you do this month?

HERE ARE YOUR NOVEMBER TUTORIALS!!

This is a video by K Werner Designs

For those of us who need more inspiration or having some praising to do, here is The Link to the last page of the October 2012 CG thread.

Happy November! Thanks for the new thread!
We went out last night for a couple hours. Joey was a ninja, Rebecca was Rapunzel. We were blessed with a break in the weather while we were out, so that was nice. Now to stay out of the candy- ate too much of it yesterday.

Well JEN stick around. You have seen nothing yet. Come chat come scrap, come play with us. We're a motley crew but love having new friends join us any time. Welcome.

Well we ended up going out to dinner (Azteca) and then watched a DVD at home (Avengers) to celebrate Halloween. No Trick or Treating for us this year. Although we did light up the remaining intact Jack O'Lantern and put a bowl of candy on the porch since we'd be upstairs and not able to hear any Trick or Treaters. We ususlly don't get any, and we didn't, but Noah insisted we put out candy, just in case.

I was going to scrap a page on our costumes last night but I got tired and went to bed after the movie.

Hoping the rain subsides so the kids don't get completely soaked at Frisbee this afternoon.

Have a great day and those of you digging out of Sandy, hope the power comes back on and the damage is cleaned up quickly.

Good morning ladies,

The challenges look *great* and I'm feeling motivated to do some scrapping this month! Thanks, TINA, for getting this up and starting of November for us. Lookin' good, all.

We had a very fun Halloween. We didn't get to trick-or-treat on the Wharf (it was raining) which was a bit disappointing. I would have let Julia t-o-t in the rain, but her hair was sprayed red and that would have been a terrible sight...dripping red Ariel...like something out of a Disney snuff film.

We did get to t-o-t inland a little bit (next town up the mountain from us). It wasn't cold, it wasn't raining. It was great. And now Mommy is so glad that is over. *sigh*

And I've already managed to find a way to calm my mind and switch to being Thankful. (Thanks to a Thankful challege thread here on 2peas, actually.) Today, the first day of November, 2012 I am thankful for the sense of community I find here...My CG friends. Thanks, ladies.

Have a great day everyone.

~ Barbara

p.s. DEBI - I think its great that you got to spend the evening with your boys. I know it must be hard to let go of trick-or-treating because it means they're growing up. But soon they won't even want to be at home. I hope you enjoyed your evening and I can't wait to see photos of their costumes.

Afternoon ladies!! I plan on being very active here in November. Everyone is finally well. YAY!!!

Took two of my three trick or treating last nights. Someone got in trouble at school yesterday so she had to stay home. Cam the cowboy had a blast. Poor baby was so tired when he came home.

Gotta go tiddy up. Be back later.

Good evening Sweet Peas!

I hope you all are doing well. We had fun last night, we took Grif and went with our neighbors to do some trick or treating. He dressed up like Thor and was cute as ever.

My sil came over today and finished up Mal's bedroom that I painted a couple of weeks ago. Mallory was sooo surprised when she got home from school and had new decorations and her new bed in there....it made all of that painting worthwhile.

This is happy news...I got the call for the last round of interviews yesterday. I go on Tuesday, there are two of us left. I've never done this kind of interview before, I have to prepare a 20-25 minute presentation on topics that they assigned to me. So...I'll be doing some homework this weekend. I'm excited to do it, I think it will be kind of fun.

Jen - Welcome to the Calendar Girls! Feel free to jump in to scrap and chat with us.

I hope you all are keeping warm and cozy this evening, it's cold here.

Take care lovely ladies,

Tina

wow TINA sounds like you are in the running. Have fun with the eypresentations.

MONICA was babysitting the new baby, the best? I bet you had a ball.

I did my first CG challenge...digi day 1 (page 1, LO 11) which was choices by YepBrook. Her style is definitely more shabby chic than I usually do and I used a CT kit which was more pink and yellow oriented, but all in all it came out ok. Had I not been using a CT kit, I might have recolored the papers to more red/blue but hey the page is done and I tried something new.

Hope you like it.

Hello all! Does anyone know how to bookmark or watchlist this thread in the new format? I'm at a loss.

Been all week with my mom keeping watch over my dad in the hospital. Missed the last days of work at the Trading Post. We are thinking he should get to go home tomorrow. I'll drive them home and then stay a few days.

I'll read the posts later, just wanted to check in.

Welcome to Jen!

We gave most of our candy to DD yesterda because we only have a few kids come and she hadn't bought hers yet. I did have one big bowl full, but didn't want extra around after Halloween. Well....we ran out!! I had to turn 9 children away. I was so sad. I couldn't scrounge up anything since there has been nothing good in this house since May. They seemed to understand.

I finally got all caught up with praise on the last thread. I'm still struggling with the light gray, but I can stand it for a few minutes at a time. Have made the print bigger and taped a colored strip to the sides of my wide monitor. I tried your suggestion, Theresa, but managed to mess something up so took it off. I'll try to get SIL over to give me some advice.

The new thread looks nice and I'm hoping to play this month.

Tammy, how's Becca doing? My dd was diagnosed first with Cyclic Vomiting, but after 2 trips to the Mayo, they changed the diagnosis to abdominal migraine. There is a definite neurological component to it, but she has outgrown/learned to control it pretty much. We had 3 really bad years with her right after her 2nd baby was born. She was the oldest diagnosed patient seen at the Mayo.

Tina, good luck on your interview. I'm pulling for you. I know you will do well because you'll go prepared.

Waving to all the Calendar Girls.

Glad your dad is doing well enough to come home tomorrow. Will he have a long recovery at home?

Good evening Ladies. Tina the threas looks wonderful! Love all the challenges girls!

Looks like everyone had a good night last night. It is hte first night in years that Kevin and I didn't dress up along with the boys. It was just too wet and miserable. The boys have fun though and that is all that matters.

JEN - welcome, stick around! The challenges are always inspiring and the ladies here are wonderful.

Some of you ladies who have been here long may remember my friend Becky, I have almost got her convinced to come back. Her children are no longer toddlers and she is finding time to create again. Hopefully she will post tomorrow.

Well, it has been a weeks of late nights here and I am falling asleep, so I will be back tomorrow.

Took a little break from the hospital to go to an actual sb store. Don't get to one very often. I got some page protectors and some neat "farmy" paper I have some pictures in mind for. Lots of stuff but I was good.

Wow November already! Maybe I'll get some scrapping done this month since last month resulted in a big fat goose egg on the monthly tally sheet. Sounds like everyone had a nice halloween. Toby took the girls trick or treating last night. First halloween night he's been off in a couple of years so I made him take them. Jordyne made it to about 6 houses and was too scared to continue. I warned him she gets scared really easy. He ended up bringing her home and taking Alison back out. We usually have a ton of trick or treaters and last night we didn't have very many and most were middle school and high schoolers. I was disappointed we usually have a lot of little kids and they are just so cute.

Tammy - Jordyne dressed up as Rapunzel this year too. Glad you had a break in the weather so the kids could enjoy trick or treating.

Jen - Welcome to the thread. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Debi - Glad you got the boys to dress up. Sounds like you had a nice evening with the boys.

Monica - How was babysitting?

Tina - Thanks for getting the thread up. Congratulations on making the final round of interviews. Best of luck, I know you will do wonderful on your presentation.

Melanie - Hope your dad got to go home and he recovers quickly.

Nylene - You must have got all our trick or treaters. LOL! I usually run out of candy this year I only handed out half of one bag.

Hello to everyone else. Think I will go hunt down the iPad and finish praising last month. For some reason I can't get the layouts to open on my laptop. I've even tried different web browsers. This is the only website I can't get pages to load so I'm not sure if it's an issue with my laptop or the website. Anyways good night all.

Here's one Halloween LO of my son and his chance meeting with the Pres (receptionist at his Orthodontist)...
Convicted? connected?

Good morning,

I love hearing about all of you passing out candy...since I'll never get to do that here at this house, I can live vicariously.

I just looked through the challenges again and I have to say y'all did a GREAT job this month...I am really liking everything this month. Can't wait to get started. Might have to sneak in a LO while Julia is at school today. (Like I don't have a million things to do.)

Debi -- you are so right! Owen does *not* look like a boy! They sure are growing up fast. I don't feel like I've known you for that long, and the twins have gone from boys to young men. How does that happen?!

Melanie -- hope things are going Ok with your dad, and that he gets to go home today. Good for you for showing such restraint in a LSS!

Tammy -- you've been quiet...busy? Becca OK?

Tina -- Congratulations on making it to the final round. I am so impressed and yet not at all surprised. I know you'll do well in this final round, too. YAY YOU!!!

MomtoAli -- I'm so sorry! I can't remember your real name. I'm having trouble getting LOs to load on my laptop also! If you figure it out, please let me know so I can try your solution.

BECKY -- are you there?! Are you lurking?? I don't think we've met, but I hope you're coming back.

Have a great day, ladies. If you're my friend on FB, you'll be hearing from me today! If you're not yet, you should be. my FB id is bluna.

Yesterday I met 2 Peas at Archiver's for a day of scrapping. I met these women thru the thread a week or so ago asking where peas lived. It was a fun day. I'll post my two pages I finished, even though they aren't for a current challenge.

Lori, I remember your friend, Becky. Hope she comes back to join us.

Melanie, how is your dad today?

Debi, you are getting a great start already this month. For the digi challenge do you have to do one a day? That would kill me.

Monica, how's the babysitting?

Pilotswife, nice to see you back. Why can't I remember your name? I'll have to go search for it.

Theresa, how long will you be without help at work? Will you survive? Maybe they will see that you need more employees. Are you still interested in leaving there?

Tammy, how's Becca.

Linda, you considered remarrying??? You are one brave girl! Glad you are back to just one guy. Hope things are going well for you.

Wanda, wherever you are, we miss and love you!! Hope you are holding and loving that baby a lot. {{{Hugs}}}

Toni, I'm so happy for you getting a new car. It's so hard to juggle transportation when you have 4 drivers and 8 places you need to be. Hugs to you. Steve's sister and bil came home from their Tennessee LDS Mission and stayed with us last week. I loved seeing their photos and now I want to go to Tennessee! They brought home a Spam Canjo and sat around playing songs and singing. What fun. I'd never heard of such a thing.

Tina, best wishes as you prepare for your last interview. You go girl!

OK, I got *nothing* of my chores done today. Dinner isn't started, the laundry is not put away (did all the washing yesterday). My house is a wreck.

But I DID finally finish the wardrobe I bought to go in Julia's Tinkerbell bedroom. I still have a few little things to do (line the drawers, stuff like that), but now she can see how cute is. She'll be so excited when I get her from school.

Nylene -- so good to see you...I know you've been popping in but it's nice to see you 'hanging out.' You're so lucky that you found scrappy 'real people' here on 2peas. I just saw that thread for the first time this morning and I've only been through page 2...so no new scrappy friends for me yet.

As I'm sitting her typing, Charlotte is standing up, holding on to a chair and attempting to walk towards me. I took a banana peel out of her hands, so she is screaming because she wants it back...she wants it so badly she's about to WALK to me grab it back!! Any day now...

OK, here's what I did today instead of taking care of my actual responsabilities.

Good evening ladies, Tina the thread looks great.
We had over 500 trick o treat-ers, It was amazing, be get so many because we are the first community after all the farms. So all the kids who live in the farm area come to our neighborhood. It's a lot of fun and a lot of neighbor go all out to make it spooky. I am in charge of giving out candy this year my friend Barbara and I sat outside drank some wine, had some cheese and gave out candy. Now that's fun!!!

Good luck with the interview, hope you get it.

Barbara..I remember when Nati was little her pulling on my leg to get off the computer, now she's torturing me to give her ice cream. "NOW!!!" I can so relate my friend.

Nylene...Is fun to meet peas. I sure loved meeting you. I ran out at 9:00 and closed my doors. We had way too many kids.

Lori...Tell Becky I say hello and to come back. I have a goal for next year to get back to scrapping.

Mel..Hope your Dad is doing better.

Jen ...Welcome.

K got to go give some ice cream to this pain in the neck little girl I have. Daniel is home this weekend doing really well. His friend drove down and asked him to drive with her because she did not want to drive alone. Works for me.
Have a great weekend.

Wow, do you all have dates or something?! This is quieting evening ever, up here??!!!

I took the girls to "free swim" at the place where Julia has lessons. Julia made so much progress just playing in the pool I could hardly believe my eyes. And Charlotte taught herself to close her eyes and hold her breath as she THROWS herself into my arms/the water. What a fun afternoon we had! I couldn't bare to come home and make dinner so we went thru a drive through...can't remember the last time I'd done that. It's a brand new local mexican place--so glad they had the drive-thru!!

Hope everyone is having a fun night, since you're not up here, I assume you are!

No hot date for me! Although I *might* be talking to a guy

I've actually been feeling icky today, and not just because of my teeth. I figured out that my nephew gave me his cold/sore throat from Halloween And right after I got my flu shot, too!

I babysat little miss Sophia yesterday! Now I feel bad, though, since it seems I now have a cold. I sure hope I didn't pass it along to her. She is doing great! She is already over 10 pounds (my cousin said she loves to eat!), and she was hardly fussy at all.

Here's a pic:

I finally got a consultation appointment with an oral surgeon for next Friday. I'm sooo ready to get this dental work done, although I really hope my grandparents can help! They said they have no financing, and the full payment is due at the time of surgery

What else? Oh, got my hair permed & cut on Monday by a girl my friend recommended - she did a terrible job!! My hair is pretty damaged And it is cut uneven as well. I did a deep conditioning treatment today, which seemed to help, but it really stinks that I have to pay someone else to fix the cut.

okay, now to catch up on chat!

Tammy- I missed pics of the kids' Halloween costumes. Did you post any on Facebook? Glad you guys had a break in the weather! It was really nice for us.

Jen- Welcome!

Debi- LOL, I was thinking you're crazy for putting a bowl of candy on the porch, but since you didn't get any trick-or-treaters I guess it doesn't matter! We hardly get any trick-or-treaters these days... they all go to the nice neighborhoods.

Barbara- Your gratitude post on FB made me smile this morning I completely agree! Hope you find that time to scrap this month!

Sharmiece- Good to see you again! Uh oh, no trick-or-treating for one of the kids, huh? I bet she regretted that!

Tina- Wow, your SIL actually finished Mal's room, huh? How did she like it? I think we need pics! Congrats on the final round of interviews! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Melanie- Hope your dad is doing well.

Lori- Yes, we need to get Becky to post on here! The more, the merrier.

Valerie- haha, that's great that you had the hubby take the kids trick-or-treating this year aww, poor Jordyne!

Diana- Seriously, 500 trick-or-treaters?! That is insane! I'd definitely be enforcing the "one piece of candy" rule Great plan to drink wine while passing out candy

hello to everyone I missed!

Good morning my sweeties! Got off early yesterday (didn't have my work done but they didn't want me to get overtime so I left). Went shopping instead, was nice having time to just wander without rushing. Hit the little scrapbook store and got two new stamps, whoo hoo. Went to Hobby Lobby, hit the mall, a shoe store, Tuesday Mornings (got a corner chomper for $9) and then Sam's. Needless to say by the time I got home I was too tired to do anything! Didn't even put my goodies away, all still on the kitchen table. Man, I'm old!!!

Nylene, how awesome that you met some new scrappers because of that thread. I got a peamail from someone that lives a little less than an hour from me, we're going to try to meet. I've invited her to the local crop next Saturday. So far she's the only one close. As for my job situation, they're treating me great. They are interviewing for another tech to help the doctors but that's only going to help me if they get someone that doesn't have to be spoon fed her job. Randy said he thinks what they'll end up doing is getting a good tech in and firing one of the ones that isn't doing good now. The girl that is helping me now (while the other one is on sick leave) is trying and that's all I'm going to say about that. It's going to be a tough two months but I have a new attitude, if it gets done, it gets done. If not, well too bad so sad.

Tina, down to just you and one more for your interview, how exciting. I know you'll do an awesome presentation!

Melanie, hope your Dad is better.

Lori, yes Becky needs to come back by.

Monica, maybe it was just the little cold that sometimes happens after getting a flu shot and not really another illness coming on. The baby is adorable!!!! As for the dental work, do you have a credit card? If not, do a search and find a low interest rate one like Capital One. You can put your dental stuff on it, pay payments (and interest of course) but it is usually easier to get a credit card than to get financing for dental work. Just put the card in your freezer after you use it at the dentist and don't use it for anything else--even "emergencies"!

Diana, can't imagine having 500 trick or treaters! The kids here are doing the downtown and church events and not going door to door much at all. I find that sad because I have such fond memories of going out when I was little.

Well need to get with it. This house is a pigsty. Need to get outside and do something with the lawn furniture and leaves too. Randy's home and he actually suggested doing the leaves, wow!

Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour tonight before you go to sleep if you're in the Daylight Savings Time area. An extra hour of sleep will be nice but it sure won't be nice driving to and from work in the dark soon.

I always say what I mean, I just may not mean to say it out loud!

Good morning. We were able to get Becca into the neurologist on a cancellation, so I jumped at it. Unfortunately, the NP that we saw was stumped, the attending MD was not buying the abdominal migraine diagnosis. So now we have an MRI and a EEG scheduled this month, and a new appt with another neurologist in January (and a wait on the cancellation list again). They want to rule out head trauma, night seizures, blood clots, and tumors by doing those testing. I'm not overly concerned that it is any of those, which is probably what is keeping me calm about it. She has been symptom free since her last episode.

Theresa- after you do your leaves, you and Randy come on over. We've got a few bags full in the backyard that came down this week with all the rain.

MOnica- hope you recover quickly- take some Echinacea. it'll help you get better faster. I'm popping some myself today. feel a sore throat coming on. I didn't post any Halloween pix on FB. slacker Mom. I didn't take any with my cell phone, but I do have some on my camera. Maybe I'll get them off my SD card today. Glad you got Sophia time. I agree with Theresa on the Credit card, if you're grandparents don't loan the money. Better to get it done than let your teeth get worse.

Nylene- How awesome to meet some IRL peas! I didn't check out that thread, maybe I should.

Valerie- try cleaning out your cache/history on the computer and see if that helps open it up.

Diana- holy cow, 500! that's crazy. Enjoy Daniel's visit. Josh is home for the weekend too.

Hi everyone

this is my monthly post where i say i am going to do some pages and then i really don't, or i don't get them posted!!

I actually have been scrapping more, i just can never get on a computer in this house! i need another laptop.

Hope everyone is weathering the weather okay. What devastation on the East. I loved that Atlantic City Boardwalk, so sad to see it as driftwood now. I suffered some minor damage to my front porch, missing shutters and siding. Not a big deal, except I spent the whole summer fixing up the front of my house...had a window repaired, the porch reinforced, shutters replaced, new garden trees, painted the door. My house looked great for a few weeks lol!! Can't complain when you see all that others have lost.

DIANA- Oh my gosh, so many trick or treaters!! I get nothing here, really. Between ten and twenty kids. Of course I buy WAY more candy than I need "just in case". I kind of wish we had that many..it would be fun!

THERESA- I have to catch up on BIG BANG THEORY too..oh my gosh i love that show. Always makes me laugh, even the episodes i've seen so many times. My late father was a nuclear physicist, I often wonder what he would think of a show full of physicists and scientists.

i am off to find something to scraplift. Got a lot of summer pages to do

love you all,
MANDY

Hi everyone. Rainy day here. Boys have a tournament game today and don't fall over but EX is taking them. I think his dad and step-mom are going so he needs to look like the good parent. Well at least he'll make it to one game this season, even if its crappy weather. LOL

Looking for NSD (National Scrapbooking day) events here on 2peas but so far havent found any. I'm sure there must be a post somewhere so will continue to look.

Gotta run in a bit to that cold frisbee game then back home to scrap my heart away, if I can find photos. I dont have many left to scrap these days. Maybe I'll have to resort to paper scrapping some of the prints I have, or at least scan some prints to digi scrap. Oh and I have a boat load of paperwork and housework to do too...so no rest for the weary.

NYLENE LOL No!no!no! you do NOT need to do a layout a day for the digi challenge...but you could. Just on a day you want to play, use that date to determine which page of the gallery you are picking your scraplift LO from, then pick the 11th (for Nov) LO to scrap...No cheating, that's the challenge -- to scraplift (the whole design, the theme, the colors, the title, whatever....from that LO). Have fun with it. And IT CAN BE DONE IN PAPER or DIGITALLY.

Someone untwisted my mom's porch lights that automatically come on with movement...4 lights in all that light up the front of the house as you walk up to the door. Does that sound like a Halloween trick because she wasn't home to give candy or do you think someone is casing the joint? When my house was burglarized, they also twisted out my motion detection lights...made me feel spooked.

BARBARA you are SO mean to take away her banana peel. LOL. Oh and when Charlotte walks, you will no longer be able to sit down. Hope you are ready? Have that camera ready, it could happen any minute.

DIANA >500 Trick or Treaters? Geesh and I got nada! That is a lot of candy dispensing. Enjoy visiting with Daniel this weekend.

MONICA oh look at Sophias cute little baby lips...she is adorable!

THERESA I always get so confused with the day-light savings time. SO if you set your clock back 1 hr (so now 6 p.m. becomes 5 p.m. ) then don't you have more daylight as it now gets darker an hour later? And in the morning if 6am becomes 5am (so what light used to happen at 6 now happens at 5) isnt it supposed to be lighter in the morning? Bottom line, its just dark morning and night here for our commute no matter what. hmmm. I do like the lighter days of summer for sure.

TAMMY I hope your find out what is causing REBECCAs pain soon. That must be frustrating for all.

MANDY LOL glad you are getting some scrapping done. As for sharing computers, its the pits. Finally had to get my boys their own laptops so I could get some computer time.

Glad to see we are being chatty peas this month.

Debi, yes you're falling back on the clock. If it's now 3:30 it will be 2:30. It gets dark earlier in the winter so they changed the time to allow it to be light for longer. It's dark already when I get up and not quite dark when I come home. It'll be darker now on the drive in because now I'll be driving during the 5:45 time frame that I have now as 6:45. Good news on that front is I'll see a pretty sunrise/sunset a lot more often.

Tammy nice of you to offer your leaves but no thanks! Randy's sleeping now after working on ours. We got the front and side of the house done with leaves. Decided the back would be fine. Randy raked and we took turns with the blower/mulcher. Rather than just pile them all out at the curb we mulched with the blower I bought last year (The Works--really is awesome!). Put the mulched leaves on the flower beds. Laundry is almost done, well it's all washed, still have a load to go in the dryer and stuff to put away.

Debi, the challenges are on the digital boards. There is a free kit if you do the blog hunt.

Monica,

"Although I *might* be talking to a guy. "
Do tell!! What's going on in your neck of the woods? Have you been holding out on us? Love your baby photos. Aren't babies wonderful!

Valerie, so sad that Jordyne was afraid of trick or treating. Some yards around us are pretty creepy once it gets dark. I hope the candy got shared. I want to see photos of your girls dressed up.

Just a quick check in. I find I do better if I don't get behind on the chat. I can read for a few minutes and then go to another site (or another chore!) Less headache and eye strain that way.

We got the results back for DH's tests and they found no more cancerous tumors. YEAH! They did find some hernias and a spot where he may need a bowel resection. It's along the old incision line. We feel good about it and scheduled him for surgery on Thursday. They said at least 3-5 days in the hospital, so I need to get some things ready to take with me so I won't go nuts sitting there. I think I'll work on my cards for Card Club.

Maybe I can learn to type a bit on my ipad and actually keep up with what's going on here.

Now I don't remember everything I read, but I finally finished praising last month's thread. You girls do the most wonderful work. My BOS is overflowing. I'm so glad you are all willing to share your work.
Hugs to everyone!

Hello Again Everyone

It has been so long. I have missed this thread so much! I am finally starting to find a little time for me. Scrapbooking was put on the back burner for awhile, but I'm starting to find a balance between being a wife, a mom and a nurse....and then finding some time in between to be creative.
My children are at the age now that they can work on thier own projects while I scrapbook. I have got back into my space, and created a space for them to play and do crafts.

So here is my first LO based on the sketch.
Grade 1
I hope I did that right....its been awhile.

Oh and I have praised up until this point!!!

I *really* have to get up from this computer and take care of my family!!

But I wanted to, real quick, say hi to Scrapper61. I don't think we've met...I'm Barbara. So glad for you that you are finding time for yourself and that you have returned to this great group of scrappin' chicas. (Are you Becky??)

OK, really...Stuart has made dinner for each of the girls. He has loaded & run the dishwasher. He's offered to get me things ("do you need anything, hun?" And still I sit...Stumble'ing, Pinteresting, Pea-ing. Shame on me!!

Talk more later...

Evening! Praised up.

Monica I missed the "talking to a guy" thing, yes do tell!!! Saw on FB that you're still feeling bad so hoping it gets better soon.

Nylene, that is awesome news about Steve's tests. Prayers for a good surgery and easy recovery.

Scrapper61, I don't remember you name either, need to add it to your page for a while so we can keep track.

Barb, nope, that's not Becky.

Made a birthday card for Aunt Joyce and one for my friend Paula but too lazy to take the computer down the hall to scan them right now so I'll add at least Paula's later. Joyce's is one of the cascading cards so I doubt I scan it, will be too wonky.

Going to head to bed soon even with the extra hour, LOL. Church tomorrow, then have to go to a sweet man's from our church's funeral. May run over to Evansville afterward if Randy gets off work quick enough. Or may just head to the local Wal-Mart. I am making a University of Kentucky mesh wreath for my sister-in-law instead of sending flowers to the funeral for her Dad. I talked to Randy's brother today and he thinks she'll like it much better than flowers that will just die. Even if I send a plant over the internet, no telling what it will look like and after checking prices, I've decided not to even try.

Good morning!

This month's thread and challenges look great! And so many new faces! Welcome to you all.

Kyle's teeth surgery went fine on Friday, though he slept most of the day after the anaesthetic. He's not in any pain though back on antibiotics as the dentist says the abcess hadn't cleared up totally.

We didn't do anything for Halloween after all this year With the unexpected dental accounts and just a general lack of motivation (not just me, the kids kinda fizzled in the idea too), we ended up making one tiny Jack 'o Lantern and just having a little candy here at home. Maybe next year...

Monica - a guy? Do tell... Must say, I'm glad I'm not dating- it looks like a minefield out there. A friend (24) was saying this week that guys these days seem to want the girl to do all the work and expect her to stroke his ego rather than him spoil her. Do you feel the same? I'm glad you finally got the appointment. The credit card sounds like an option if nothing else pans out. Hope the hair can be sorted easily. I hate it when the cut isn't right.

Tammy - so sorry Becca still doesn't have a definite diagnosis, but it is great that there hasn't been another episode. Ugh, more tests...

Mandy - Hope you get some scrapping (and posting) done this month. Do what I do - I often post the previous month's challenges as I get them loaded. Hey, they might be late, but at least they are done!

Lori - Sounds like the winter weather is setting in there quickly. We are going into summer here and everyone has hayfever. We live on the edge of Cape Town, right next to the farms, so all the crop spraying, canola, vineyards, etc is right here. Lovely place to live but we have to suffer the stuff in the air. When does the snow start there?

Sharmiece - It'll be great to see more of you here. Looks like your life is settling down a bit and you are getting more creative time.

Melanie - Hope your Dad is okay and got home fine. Has your store closed for the off season now? That means a lot more scrappy time!

Theresa - Short staffed for 2 months? Ugh. Hope they find someone to do a good tech job. Reading between the lines, the one helping you now isn't quite up to standard. Though she is at least trying.

Diana - 500 kids? OMG! It must have looked like Grand Central Station with all those kids wandering around! Glad Daniel recovered well. Shared driving is a good idea. I studied far from home and we often shared. It helps with fuel costs and is much safer. I hope you do get to do more scrapping. I miss your awesome layouts.

Tina - WhooHoo! You go girl! Congrats on making it through. A presentation sounds like an interesting way to see what a candidate can do. Good luck!

Barbara - Charlotte is ready to walk? But she was a tiny baby in arms just the other day? LOL. Frustration is a great motivator to walk. Everything needs to move higher now to protect it from those little hands. It is such a cute time. Take lots of photos.

Debi - the ex took the boys??? Will wonders never ceace? Well, you do say there was a motivating factor...lol.

I need to get some admin done this morning. My motivation has been low this past week. I did manage to finish all my financial info for the auditors for last financial year and just need a little bit more time to catch up this year's info (remember I lost it when my laptop was stolen?) It just never ends. Maybe I can do a little scrapping this afternoon as a reward.

Hi to anyone I missed.

Have a great Sunday.

Ah THERESA I don't like that it's going to be even darker in the mornings...it's pitch black now when I wake up and barely getting light when the kids have to go to school. I was hoping they could walk more, but not if it's still dark...geesh.

I've been scrapping all day. Did 2 speedscraps back to back and my little brain is spinning. Too much too fast.

I have 9 challenges to finish by noon tomorrow, for one site and 6 for Wednesday here. Think I can do it? I don't know...I do have a life, contrary to popular opinion.

I drank nearly a liter of coke today...way more than I usually do.

I haven't loaded my pages so will link later.

Night all.

Happy Sunday. Must say I enjoyed that extra hour of sleep! But with the leaves yesterday and the neighbor's cat wanting extra attention I ended up with a lot of allergies so I took Nyquil before I went to bed. Yes, the neighbor's cat, who I went to THEIR house and fed while they were on vacation, now comes here several times a day. Randy bought him food so we're feeding him too now but pretty much he just comes for me to pet him. He's got really long hair and it bothers my allergies but he is just so sweet! Took a couple of photos yesterday, will have to scrap him.

Well no sleep for the weary. I was wide awake at 5:35am- and the kids were up at 6:30.
Joey's friend spent the night and is going to church with us. Today is an ice cream gathering to celebrate the end of the baseball season.

Nylene- prayers for Steve and his surgery this week.

Theresa- Bobby mowed and did most of the leaves yesterday, today it looks like nothing was done! LOL. Tis the season. The wreath sounds like a nice idea, that she can always have.

Debi- glad the ex is taking them. you need a break. sounds like too many challenges to me to get done!

Welcome Scrapper 61, I think it's Becky!

Yeap I would say minimum. I bought 5 bags of the Costco Candy I think 2 had 150 and 3 had 250 and by 8:00pm I was giving out one candy. I started giving out only 2. I know the drill by now. I don't complain because we really enjoy Halloween here.
Daniel went back today and will be coming back for Thanksgiving.

I have done nothing all day and there is just so much to do starting with food shopping and laundry.

Will come back later to catch up.

Here is what I have done this week.

Hello all - I still need to read the thread and start praising. Just wanted to check in and say that I am HOME!

Dad got out of the hospital on Friday. Drove mom and dad home. Got him settled. Helped mom with chores. Keep them both calm. Help with those tight after surgery socks! So far so good. He has a long incision down the leg from the groin to behind and below the knee about 5 inches. Lots of bruising and the swelling is getting better. With periferal artery disease this is not a permanent fix, but hopefully will hold for a while. It is pretty quiet around the farm without the cattle and most of the hogs. It should be a lot easier this winter for them. We need to go back soon and help them get a few more things done.

For now I'm glad to be home. Got here about 9 tonight. In the years we have been married, this is the longest Greg and I have been apart. One week. Missed him! We are so used to being together all the time it is really strange being apart.

Well, need to catch up on a few other things. Goodnight!

Good Morning Sweet Peas!

Sorry that I was MIA this weekend, it was a blur. Ron and I took the middle school kids out to rake leaves for older and disabled folks this weekend. I think we are cursed, every year it rains when we have this scheduled, this year there was hail coming down too. We spent a few hours out in it anyway and the kids had a fun, so it was all good. I also worked a bunch on my presentation for tomorrow, I still need to cut it down a bit and do the powerpoint, but it's pretty much done.

Sooo...my Mom has been sick for a couple of weeks and has been losing a lot of weight really fast. She'd gone to the hospital last Monday and they did a bunch of tests, told her that she had colitis and gave her meds, but she was still in a lot of pain inside her rib cage and not feeling well. She went back on Friday and they reviewed her tests from Monday, they found 4 nodules on one of her lungs...so that is not good. She goes to see another doc tomorrow, I guess we'll know more then. She's had chunks of melanoma cut out twice in the past few years, so her doc is concerned that it's returned in her lungs. My younger sister is having heart problems too, which is pretty weird. She is only 43, so that seems crazy to me, she also goes to the next doctor tomorrow, so prayers for our family for tomorrow would be much appreciated.

Scrapper 61 - Welcome to our group! Feel free to re-introduce yourself and jump on in.

Sharmiece - Welcome back! It's good to see you.

Monica B - that baby is adorable!!! Love the sweet photo.

Also ladies - I updated the thread to add Diana's challenge, so we now have a recipe challenge for the month too.

Take care and have a good week!

Good morning. Didn't sleep well at all last night, trying to plan a nap into my day. I did spend time yesterday planning out the digi books I'm going to work on this weekend. Im going to my friends house for a scrap weekend. Hope to pull some templates/ideas together this week so it goes quicker. Always takes long to figure out what I'm going to do before doing it.

Tina- prayers for your Mom and sister- keep us posted. Good luck on your presentation.

Melanie- glad your Dad is doing well. Absence makes the heart grow fonder you know!

Debi- did you finish your challenges?

Hi all,

I am taking it easy today. I ran 9 miles yesterday--that is a little ahead of my training schedule. I am so tired, I can barely function. Fortunately, all I have to do is make dinner. No pressing chores. I even took a little nap when Charlotte was down this morning.

Theresa -- I think a wreath is a very sweet idea. How was work today? Hope it was OK.

Michelle -- I'm sorry you were disappointed about Halloween. I'm thinking the occasional quiet year is a *good* thing. There's so much chaos around the whole day...I think you guys are smart to lay low when you don't "feel it." Sorry about Kyle's continuing mouth issues. He must be getting pretty tired of the whole thing, too.

Nylene -- So glad to hear about Steve's test results. I hope surgery goes well.

Debi -- You sound *busy* LOL. I hope you got your challenges done.

MONICA -- you are AVOIDING the QUESTION!! What boy?!

Melanie -- Glad you got to go home for a little while. Hope you were able to relax and put your feet up. and that your dad is having a comfortable, quick recovery.

Tina -- um. I don't know what to say. You need to stay focused on that job interview, but wow, what lot of distractions life is throwing at you! I'll be thinking of your family and hoping for their good health...that all info comes in as 'good' as it can be. And I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. GOOD LUCK!!

Tammy -- I hope you got a nap today! Sorry you're having trouble sleeping.

OK, I'm going to figure out the quickest dinner I can possibly make. Then maybe I can do the tiniest bit of scrapping since Stuart is staying on the other side of the hill tonight.

Happy Monday, all

Evening all.

Tina, so sorry to hear about your Mom's tests and your Sister's heart issues too. Prayers for all.

Melanie, glad your Dad seems to be on the road to recovery. Sweet that you miss your DH so much.

Barb, 9 miles, wow!!!! I'm impressed. I'm much too lazy to run.

Problem with my UK wreath, the deco mesh I bought isn't blue, it's purple. Couldn't believe it, so annoyed! The way it was wrapped it looked blue. Went back today to get blue, don't have any at Hobby Lobby or the small Joann's. Not sure what to do now. Sounds like a trip to Evansville Friday afternoon. Really wanted to finish it today and get it in the mail tomorrow. I found a little UK Wildcat bath scrunchy to use and bought wooden letters U and K, painted them blue with white outlines, looks good. Haven't figured out yet how to get the wooden letters in the center of the wreath but I'm working on it.

I always say what I mean, I just may not mean to say it out loud!
